how did it go
On Saturday 24 July 2021 the 1st edition of the Tuscany Chiaro di Luna took place in Castiglione d'Orcia, covering distances of 15 km, 24 km and 44 km respectively.
The particularity of the event was the start at sunset so the competitors reached the finish line using the headlamps.
There was also a delegation of the local authorities in the person of the mayor, the councilor for culture and sport of the municipality of Castiglione d'Orcia.
After more than a year, the Trail makes a new stop in the Valdorcia Park, the races also open to walkers have had a good response from participants, all of which took place in compliance with the distancing rules and anti-covid protocols.
However, before starting the event, the tiles that recall the previous editions of Tuscany Crossing were unveiled with the intervention of the mayor of Castiglione d'Orcia Claudio Galletti, the municipal councilors Erika Formichi and Lorenzo Armeni, subsequently the new routes were presented where the eighth edition of Tuscany Crossing will take place on 24 and 25 September over distances of 100 miles, 103 km 53 km also thanks to the presence of the multiple winner of the event Massimo Tagliaferri, who then ventured together with the wife Jessica Galleani on the distance of the 44 km of the race.
The tracks of the Tuscany Chiaro di Luna have provided for the departure and arrival of the 44 km in Castiglione D'Orcia, the 15 km and the 23km instead were made to start from Campiglia D'Orcia with arrival in Castiglione d'Orcia.
Coming to the results of the competitive races on the distance of 15 km, the Livorno-born Roberto Ria, now famous masked runner of the Apuan Alps GP, wins, the square of waves if Gianluca Malacona of GS Filippide wins, third classified comes Antonio Scalzo of the Asd Le Handmaids. In the women's sector, Giulia Miglietti of the Millennium Trail Team wins, second classified crosses the finish line Patrizia Santi de La Chianina, third instead Lisa Prosdocimi of the ASD Hrobert Running Team.
In the 24 km Michael Bonsembiante of the ASD Hrobert Running Team wins, in second position comes Flavio Natali of the Millennium Trail team, the lowest step of the podium is won by Ali Kone of the Asd I Risorti Buonconvento, in the women's sector Claudia instead prevails Baldini Argenti, second classified is Eleonora Pucci of Apd Isolotto, third is Sofia Bulzacca of Polisportiva Dil. Saint Lucia .
Coming to the queen distance of 44 km Gabriele Teodorani wins, Massimo Tagliaferri ranks second, the third step of the podium is won by Fabrizio Genova of the D + Trail, in the women's sector triumphs Jessica Galleani (who even takes second place in the general classification), the place of honor goes to Luisa Canonico, third comes Farida Poggesi.
